Spread over an area of 911 square kilometers, Hua Hin is one of the oldest Thai resorts and is an important tourist attraction in Thailand famous for its 5 km long beach filled with clean white sand, crystal clear waters, serene atmosphere and high density of world class golf courses.
The town of Hua Hin has always been a fishing village. The beauty of Hua Hin beach had long remained elusive and undetected. It was originally known as Ban Laem Hin or Ban Samoe Rieng. With the construction of a Sofitel Central Railway Station in Hua Hin in 1923, the town came into limelight. Located in this region is the summer palace of King Rama VII known as the Klai Kang Won Palace, an important landmark.
Hua Hin is a year-round tourist destination as it registers one of the lowest rainfalls in Thailand. However, being on the coastal side, lovely sea breeze provides an excellent weather and it keeps the temperature refreshing.
Apart from the beach, other major attractions in Hua Hin include night markets, stylish shops and boutiques. Night market is a popular nightlife attraction with both Thai and foreign tourists. There are several Thai restaurants available in the region serving a wide range of cuisines for the convenience of tourists. Leisure activities on the beach include water sports, fishing, and beach cycling, jogging and boat trips.
